Distortion is Copenhagen’s biggest street party. It’s a five-day celebration of music, art, and community. This year, the festival took place from June 4 to June 8, 2025. Wakan Tanka Prod joined the street party and we asked people about their music tastes. You can check these fun street interviews in our social media!

What Is Distortion?

Over 100,000 people join the fun each year. Distortion started as an experimental party project in 1998. In 2000, it became a 5-day-long party-crawl going through one Copenhagen district each day.

The magic started with plenty of intimate backyard grill parties, receptions, happenings, party bus and champagne boats, all over Copenhagen, with 30-200 people at each get-together. Each event was cute, but it was the combination and the fact that Distortion was a travel through the city, full of genuine love for Copenhagen, that created the special atmosphere. Many of these events were not totally legal, but attendees were always semi-responsible: cleaned after themselves and respected the neighbours. For the first time in 2007, it got 1,500 guests at one single street party on Enghave Plads and almost 3,000 guests at the Final Party.

Today, Distortion includes:

Distortion Ø: The Grand Finale

Distortion Ø is the highlight of the festival. This year it was held on June 6 and 7, 2025, at Refshaleøen. This industrial island transforms into a massive rave with multiple stages. The event runs from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Distortion Club: Nightlife Across Copenhagen

Distortion Club features parties in nine venues:

The music is a mix of techno, house, hip-hop, and disco-house music and features dance, art, and community activities.
