Babel Music XP 2026 was a wonderful experience. Wakan Tanka Prod was in Marseille between the 19th and 21st of March. Our producer manager, Lora Grigorova, represented the agency at this important world music forum. It was a week full of music, meetings, and inspiration. We are excited to share the highlights of this journey.

Our Mission in Marseille: Looking to 2027
Our main goal at Babel Music XP was clear. We wanted to introduce the talented artists from the Wakan Tanka Prod roster to a wider audience. We are actively seeking new opportunities to present their work across Europe in 2027.
The European music scene is diverse. We believe our artists bring a unique energy that fits perfectly. Marseille provided the ideal platform to start these conversations. We are confident that these new connections will lead to exciting tours in the near future.

A New Cumbia Festival for Malmö
But we didn’t just talk about the future. We also shared exciting news for this summer! Wakan Tanka Prod is organizing a brand new Cumbia Festival in Malmö. We are thrilled to collaborate with Hamaka for this event.
The festival will take place for the first time on July 11th. The venue will be the iconic Folkets Park. This is a major step for us. We aim to bring the spirit of Cumbia to the heart of Skåne. Promoting this festival at Babel was a fantastic opportunity to build international interest.

Highlights from Babel Music XP
The overall experience at Babel Music XP was truly wonderful. The event was packed with valuable moments.
We had numerous meetings with diverse and interesting people. Establishing these contacts is crucial for our growth. It was especially rewarding to exchange ideas with colleagues from the Cumbia scene. These conversations strengthen our global network.
The conference program was very impressive. We attended panels that addressed key topics in the music industry today. We learned about current trends in the music economy. Another vital discussion focused on the role of women in music. This included women as artists and also those working behind the scenes.
The live music showcased the immense variety of world music styles. The sound quality in the venues was excellent. Each showcase felt like a discovery.

Marseille: A Magical Host City
Finally, we must mention Marseille itself. It is an incredible city. The unique atmosphere and rich history made it the perfect backdrop for Babel Music XP. The city’s energy matches the spirit of the music of Babel. We left feeling inspired and energized.
We are already looking forward to the next edition! In the meantime, keep an eye out for updates on our upcoming Cumbia Festival in Malmö this July.
